Antonie Kamerling (1966-2010) was an actor and singer. In 1990, during his law studies at Amsterdam University, he was asked to play the role of Peter in the first Dutch soap opera Good times, bad times/Goede tijden, slechte tijden. He played this role from 1990 until 1993 and became very much beloved.
In 1993 he played his first role in the movie The little blonde death. It brought Kamerling the nomination of a Golden Calf Film Award. Many movies and theatre plays followed.
The above song 'When I saw you'/'Toen ik je zag' is the theme music of the film All Stars (1997), about a group of football playing friends. Antonie Kamerling played Hero, who falls in love with Claire. She is played by model, writer and television host Daphne Deckers (wife of Wimbledon winning tennis player Richard Krajicek).

The song 'When I saw you' was written by singer-songwriter Guus Meeuwis, most known for his hit 'It is a night'/'Het is een nacht'. 'When I saw you' became a success, it had a number one position in the National Hit Parade Top 40 for five weeks. The song has been voted into the Top 2000 (traditionally broadcasted on the radio the last week of the year) since 2013, as high as 653/2000.
Antonie Kamerling was married to actress Isa Hoes, who he had met at Good times, bad times. They had two children. However, Kamerling suffered from returning depressions. He committed suicide in 2010, only 44 years old.
