Marco Borsato (1966) is the most successful Dutch singer in the Netherlands. In 1994 he had a big breakthrough with 'Dreams are deceptive'/'Dromen zijn bedrog' (1994, translated from Italian). It had a number 1 position in the hit parade Top 40 for 12 weeks in a row. His first Dutch album, Marco, won two times a Platinum Album.
Together with John Ewbank they won 10 Edison Music Awards, 10 TMF Awards and a Golden Harp. Over 20 hits written by Ewbank (also for other artists) reached the number 1 position in the Top 40. Another of their songs, translated on this website, is: 'She'/'Zij'.
Marco Borsato is the best scoring Dutch artist in the Top 40 and he is the Dutch singer with most number 1 hits (14 times). For five years he was coach at the popular tv show The voice of Holland (2011-2016). Since 1998 Marco Borsato is ambassador for War Child, a non-governmental organisation assisting children in conflict or war situations.

Trijntje Oosterhuis (1973) is a singer. She sings usually in English and performs with the Ladies of Soul, besides her solo career. She was a coach in The Voice of Holland for three years. She released over 15 albums. She won three Edison Awards (two times for Best Singer). She is considered to have one of the best female voices in the Netherlands.
The song 'World without you'/'Wereld zonder jou' (1997) remained in the National Hit Parade Top 40 for 20 weeks, with number 3 as highest position. The song was awarded with an Edison Award. It's still voted every year into the Top 2000 (traditionally broadcasted on the radio during the last week of every year), as high as place 178/2000.
