Bløf (1992) (pronunciation: 'bluf', then meaning 'bluff', 'bragging') is a Dutch band from the province Zealand/Zeeland, playing pop and rock music. Regular band members are Paskal Jakobsen (singer), Peter Slager and Bas Kennis.
From 2006 onward they organise a pop festival at the Brouwersdam in Zeeland: Concert at sea. It started as a free concert, only by Bløf, but no less than 40.000 people came to listen. Because of this success, it became an annual festival, lasting two days, with every year another line up. With up to 70.000 visitors, it's the biggest commercial event in Zeeland. The Brouwersdam is part of the Delta Works (protecting the low land of the Rhine-Meuse delta against the sea).
Bløf released over 25 albums. Well-known songs are 'Love from London'/'Liefs uit Londen' (1998), 'At the coast'/'Aan de kust' (1998), 'What would you do'/'Wat zou je doen' (1998), 'Closer than ever'/'Dichterbij dan ooit' (2001), 'Proposal without rings'/'Aanzoek zonder ringen' (2006) and 'Everything is love'/'Alles is liefde' (2007).

The above song 'Dancing at the seaside'/'Dansen aan zee' (2000) was in the National Hit Parade Top 40 for twelve weeks. It is voted into the Top 2000 (traditionally broadcasted on the radio during the last week of the year) since 2003. No less than 23 of their songs have been voted into this list over the years, among which all above mentioned songs.
The band is sometimes criticised for lyrics that are hard to understand or even incomprehensible. In above song, a sailor says farewell to his beloved. They dance a goodbye dance, a waltz, on the beach. In the refrain he counts their steps out loud (one, two, three) and gives them meaning: one is for her tears, two is for his tears and three is for disappearing on the horizon. So every step brings them closer to their seperation.
