I dreamt insa-sa-sa-sa-sanely tonight
It was a grea-grea-great, exceptional dream
Everyone screamed: "Hip hip hooray"
Then I got a bigg kiss and a crown
I dreamt insa-sa-sa-sa-sanely tonight
I got a flood of pre-pre-presents and gifts
Everyone asked: "Do you love me"
Cra-cra-crazy, this wonderful dream

Ik heb zo wa-wa-wa-waanzinnig gedroomd
Ik was zo mo-mo-mooi, 't was echt niet gewoon
Iedereen riep: "Hieperdepiep"
Daarna werd ik gekust en gekroond
Ik heb zo wa-wa-wa-waanzinnig gedroomd
Ik werd met ca-ca-ca-cadeaus overstroomd
Iedereen zei: "Hou je van mij"
Wa-waanzinnig, maar heerlijk gedroomd

Once every year you get a weird dream
So strange, it sticks in your mind
Silver, a song, a kiss on your cheek
Everyone follows you 'round
When you wake up, you feel shy and decide
I will tell no one about this strange dream

Deep in the night, when you least expect
You're feeling dizzy of luck
Everyone laughs, a star lights up bright
Picked from the sky, just for you
When you wake up, you feel shy and decide
I will tell no one the dream that I had

Diep in de nacht, totaal onverwacht
Duizelt je hoofd van geluk
Iedereen lacht en alles wordt licht
Als men een ster voor je plukt
Bij het ontwaken bedenk je beschroomd
Niemand vertellen wat ik heb gedroomd

Kinderen voor Kinderen ('Children for Children', 1980) is a Dutch national children's choir. Every year, since 1980, they release an album with new children's songs for the age of 8 till 13. Every year schoolchildren in that age range are asked what the subjects of the songs should be (like friendship, holiday, pets, starting secondary school, shyness, boredom, handicaps, divorce, war, illness, falling in love, acne, bullying, homework, etc.).

Well-known songwriters, lyricists and composers are asked to write one or two songs for a new record. Contributors were for example: Harry Bannink, Herman Pieter de Boer, Jan Boerstoel, Claudia de Breij, Tonny Eyk, Robert Long, Henk Temming, Henk Westbroek, Willem Wilmink and Ivo de Wijs.

The choir was set up to raise money for charity (especially for children in the Third World) - that explains the name of the choir. Since the 1990's, the choir no longer supports charities. Every year the songs are presented in a big TV-show, just before the new album is launched. This TV-show is also released on dvd.

The choir Children for Children/Kinderen voor Kinderen won 1 time a Diamond Album, 11 times a Platinum Album and 4 times a Golden Album (in 38 years). No less than seven singles (although they're not pop songs) reached the National Hit Parade Top 40. One song (above song) was voted into the Top 2000 (traditionally broadcasted on the radio the last week of the year) ten times. It is sung by Annemieke Stuurman, 12 years old.

Herman Pieter de Boer (1928-2014) was a Dutch writer and lyrics writer. His most well-known songs are (besides above song): 'Let me' (1978); 'Annabel' (1983); and 'On an uninhabited island' (1981). This last song won the award of the Best Children for Children Hit (2010). In 2002 he was awarded with a Golden Harp.

Tonny Eyk (1940) is a pianist and composer. He composed music for film and television, begin tunes for radio programmes and made tours with Dutch and international artists. He won four Edison Music Awards, a Golden Harp (1981) and the award of the Best Children for Children Hit (2010) for 'On an uninhabited island' (1981).
