Extreme extremely fast they came grazing on their bikes
Extreme extremely fast 'cause they heard there was a race, a motorcross
Driving slowly they never had done
They thought that was only wasting time
Bertus on his Norton and Tinus on his BSA
To the motorcross on the Hengelo sand
The chicken and the girls were driven on the side
Bertus on his Norton and Tinus on his BSA

Oehoe oehoerend hard kwamen zi-j doar angescheurd

They went extreme, extreme, extreme, extreme, extreme, extremely fast
They went extreme, extreme, extreme, extreme, extreme, extremely fast

Zi-j gingen oe, oehoe oehoe, oehoe oehoe oehoerend hard
Zi-j gingen oe, oehoe oehoe, oehoe oehoe oehoerend hard

Extreme extremely fast they came afterwards grazing back to home
Extreme extremely fast, 'cause they would be much sooner home
They had so cracking bursting fun all day
They both were rather tipsy, but just only slight
Bertus on his Norton and Tinus on his BSA
About danger or risk they never had thought
They were the road kings and they felt they could do everything
Bertus on his Norton and Tinus on his BSA

Oehoe oehoerend hard scheurden zi-j noa de cross noar huus
Oehoe oehoerend hard, want dan waren zi-j eerder thuus
Zi-j hadden alderbastend gein gehad
Zi-j waren allebei een heel klein betjen zat
Bertus op zien Norton en Tinus op de BSA
An 't gevoar hadden zi-j nog nooit gedach
Zie waren koning op de weg en dachten alles mag
Bertus op zien Norton en Tinus op de BSA

They went extreme, extreme, extreme, extreme, extreme, extremely fast
They went extreme, extreme, extreme, extreme, extreme, extremely fast

Zi-j gingen oe, oehoe oehoe, oehoe oehoe oehoerend hard
Zi-j gingen oe, oehoe oehoe, oehoe oehoe oehoerend hard

But surely always the rushing will come to an end
Due to a drunk fellow who's not knowing what's the speed of his bike
Bertus drove the bike and Tinus he was just right behind
Everyone would say: "Oh these guys, we won't hear of again"
They never went, never no, crazy fast again
They never went, never no, crazy fast again

picture garland guirlande symbol of dutch song translated English translation

But we will go extreme, extreme, extreme, extreme, extremely fast
But we will go extreme, extreme, extreme, extreme, extremely fast

Moar wi-j goat oe, oehoe oehoe, oehoe oehoe oehoerend hard
Moar wi-j goat oe, oehoe oehoe, oehoe oehoe oehoerend hard

picture garland guirlande symbol of dutch song translated English translation

And we all go extreme, extreme, extreme, extreme, extremely fast
And we all go extreme, extreme, extreme, extreme, extremely fast
And we all go extreme, extreme

En wi-j goat oe, oehoe oehoe, oehoe oehoe oehoerend hard
En wi-j goat oe, oehoe oehoe, oehoe oehoe oehoerend hard
En wi-j goat oe, oehoe oehoe

Normaal ('Normal') (1974-2015) was a Dutch rockband that sang in a Dutch dialect, the 'Achterhoeks' (officially 'Nedersaksisch': Low Saxon). Singer and guitarist of the band was Bennie Jolink. Other long-lasting members were Jan Manschot (drums) and Ferdi Joly (guitar).

During their first big show in Lochem (in the Achterhoek) in 1975, the rock band started to sing in the regional language. This was completely new and an instant success. Two years later they had a big national hit with 'Crazy fast' (or 'Extremely fast')/'Oerend hard' (1977). This is considered the beginning of the dialect pop and the farmer's rock.

In 40 years they released over 40 records. They called their fans 'super farmers'/'superboeren', they called their tours 'campaigns'/'veldtochten', during concerts beer was spouted with fire hoses and their favorite expression was 'höken', which means as much as having fun, partying, blowing your mind.

The song 'Oerend hard' is about two boys going to the motor cross - but they have a deadly crash due to alcohol. Motorbike riding was a favorite activity of several band members. In fact front man Benny Jolink had a few motorbike crashes himself during his life, one almost costing him his life - similar to his own songtext.
